Was forced to restore my phone and lost a year worth of photos on my iphone 7 plus! Is there any way to get my photos back?????

One morning i woke up to this problem on my iPhone support.apple.com/iPhone/restore and did exactly what it said to do. i hooked it up to a laptop, tired to reinstall iOS like it said but unfortunately after trying to update it i had only one option which was to restore my phone. I was out of the country when this happened and had to wait till I got back home to sign back into my iCloud. The last time my iCloud backed up was A YEAR AGO so thousands of my photos that weren't backed up are gone! this is not fair! So i was wondering if there is ANYWAY AT ALL to get my photos back??? I had many important and personal photos gone and will do anything to get them back. Would buying more iCloud help to get my photos back and continue backing up the photos i lost?

Anything will help thanks!

No. You can't. It's a monthly subscription. Of course, you always have the option of backing up to your computer using iTunes.

Not fair? Seriously? You are responsible for backing up your data. If you didn't back them up, they are gone. There is no way to recover them.

That’s completely not fair. Would making an apple appointment help to see if there’s absolutely anything else they can do or at least help me never have this problem again? Like I said it’s not fair and is willing to go the extra mile to get my data back. thanks

Yes it’s clearly not fair if I was FORCED to FACTORY reset my phone all of a sudden, I don’t know how that doesn’t make any sense. I’ll just see if there’s absolutely anything else I can do then I guess I’ll just have to give up. Thank you

It certainly is fair as you are responsible for backing up your data. There is no excuse for not backing up on a regular basis. Apple has made doing so brain dead simple. You've been getting warnings for months that your phone was not backed up. You chose to ignore them.

You weren't "forced." It is your privilege to own a broken phone. However, backup capability was created so that iPhone owners could protect themselves in the event of an iPhone problem.
