Just spent dozens of hours creating an apple photo book for the family and grandparents, only to find out that this service (which I've been doing at Christmas for 6 years is no longer available.) I live in Canada and want an exact replica in terms of format/size/paper/finishes as I've created in the past. Is this possible using my current photo project and through whom?
Export your current project as a PDF file. Then upload it to one of the services, that can print from Apple Book PDF files.

Which version of Photos are you using?
Does the method described in the link not work? (https://support.apple.com/guide/photos/check-a-project-before-ordering-pht6e15caf3/3.0/mac/10.13). Open the book project to view the pages of the book, and ctrl-click or right click the background between the pages.
When I try to export the project (designed book), there's no option to export as a pdf. Just "Export Album" (which exports the photos as jpgs but not the designed pages), or Export Unmodified Originals for Album or Export GIF. What's going wrong?
I tried to pdf the project using Option + Buy Book and several pages saved with the photos facing the wrong direction. Is there another way to save it as a pdf so this doesn't happen. I can't save it as a pdf from the File/Export commands. So frustrated.
It's Photos 3.0 and I'm on High Sierra OS (just upgraded to see if that was the issue). There are quite a few pages where the photos save flipped/sideways/stretched, and then some pages look fine. No rhyme or reason to which formats are coming out wonky. Sometimes it's the same format template that works on one page and not on another. I saved it the way you described.
