How do you unpair an Apple watch you no longer have?
About 4 months ago I sold my iPhone X and my Apple Watch. I used an Android device temporarily as part of a work related pilot programme.
I backed up my iPhone to iCloud and reset it (and turned off Find my iPhone), then I factory reset the Apple Watch and did the same.
Four months on I have purchased an iPhone XS, recovered my backup, and all is working well, aside from the Apple Watch app on my phone. I attempted to delete it, as I don't own an Apple watch and don't intend to purchase another one, however I am met with an error:
"To delete this app from the Home screen, un-pair any Apple Watch paired to your iPhone".
When I open the Apple Watch app, I am greeting with a screen asking me to choose between "Pair Existing Watch" or "Pair New Watch". Neither of these options do anything as,
A) I no longer own the previous Apple Watch
B) I don't own an Apple Watch
What do I do in order to get rid of the Apple Watch App without wiping my phone and negating the entire process of having an iCloud backup in the first place?
Thanks.
