In Mojave the Finder has lost its ability to save the tabs. I really like this feature so I can go from tab to tab of my favorite files. As soon as I close the Finder window or re-start my iMac, the tabs are gone. When will a fix be available? As a 2nd question, clicking on the download icon in the dock shows files in alphabetical order. I want to see the most recent file, not search by alphabet. How can I change this?

If you want the Finder to remember its tabs don't close the Finder window and make sure "Reopen windows…" is checked in the Restart/Shut Down dialog window.
Right/control click the Downloads folder and select "Date Added"

Thanks - that worked for the Download folder, but no luck with the tab issue. I just tried it and checked "reopen windows" but alas all the tabs were gone upon the restart. I hope Apple will fix this issue. My productivity is reduced when the tabs need to be re-established with every reboot of my computer.
Wait wait, it did work!!!! The Finder window was in the dock (by the trash) and indeed the tabs were all there.
