Apple CarPlay problem with 2019 Acura RDX and iPhone X

After connecting, successfully, my iPhone X to the RDX's infotainment unit, the connection repeatedly cuts off, only to re-connect some time later. I have changed cords, and the software on both the phone and the infotainment system are up to date.

I fiinally fixed the Apple CarPlay issues my wife was having with her 2019 Acura RDX and her iPhone 8. After following all the ideas on this page, my nearly identical phone worked, and hers did not.

I went into the phone profiles in the car’s CarPlay settings, and there were two profiles for her phone. I deleted them (along with all unneeded profiles created by the dealer test drives, etc.) and her phone works flawlessly.

I also recommend naming your phone something other than the default “iPhone” in the general settings.

I also have this problem. I have tried all the solutions on my iPhone X and in my RDX infotainment system. Of course, my Acura dealer has no clue, and they may be right laying this malfunction on Apple. My next step is to try my wife’s iPhone 8 to see if the problem persists. Does anyone know if this is also a problem with the new members of the iPhone X family?

Updated iPhone 10xs to IOS 12.2 yesterday and had the same problem with 2019 Acura RDX CarPlay. I did a hard reset to iPhone, turned bluetooth off in settings, then turned back on, then turned off "apple pay cash" under wallet & apple pay in settings, then did another hard reset to iPhone, then turned "apple pay cash" back on. CarPlay worked perfect again! Not sure you need to do all those steps as I didn't try to reconnect to CarPlay in between the hard resets. I know there are issues with IOS 12.2 apple wallet and turning off "apple pay cash" then back on again seems to correct the problem. I'm guessing every time we update IOS on our iPhones we will experience some type of connection issue with CarPlay until Apple finds a permanent fix. Hope this helps!

I just got the RDX - when using carplay - my issue is when using some apps while speaking on the phone - the other person can no longer hear me. For example - if I use Google Maps - at times the person I am speaking can no longer hear me. Same when I open Instagram or Dropbox while on a phonecall. I was on phone yesterday and had a whatsapp message - and then person I was speaking to couldn't hear me. Anyone have this issue? I call Acura dealer and they have no idea.

My RDX is scheduled to go into my local Acura Dealership, tomorrow.

Does anyone have any more information or symptoms I can use to convince these clowns, that it's an Acura issue and not an Apple issue?

As far as I'm concerned, the implementation of CarPlay in the Acura, is atrocious.

BTW, I've tried the re-boot approach a couple of times, with no improvement. The "microphone" keeps cutting out, during phone calls, without doing any else with the system. It's almost like the Acura "microphone" "heats up" or something, then kicks off. Once I switch to the speaker on the phone, I can often go back to using the handsfree/CardPlay.
