Akai MPK 249 not recognized in Logic

Hello! I followed all the steps in the tutorial to set-up my akai mpk 249 in logic pro X. (See akai's instructions here: http://www.akaipro.com/support/kb/articles/akai-mpk2---setup-in-logic-pro-x)

I'm using a 2017 MBP with touchbar, running on the latest version of Mojave (10.14.2). Initially, everything worked fine. I was able to use my board as a midi controller and produce songs. However, suddenly Logic won't recognize that my controller is plugged in.

Troubleshooting thus far:

Deleted preferences file for Akai MPK 249 and re-installed in system library

Reprogrammed preset and global settings on controller

Re-learned controller functions in Logic

Restarted laptop and Logic

Despite these attempts, my MPK won't appear under the midi synchronization settings in Logic. Here's what appears in my settings (aside from my audio interface when connected):

Any suggestions on how to get "Akai MPK249" as an option again in my sync settings? Cheers!

UPDATE: my controller's been working intermittently again. After contacting support, we found that disabling non-native plugins (such as the ones that came with Akai's controller) in Logic immediately fixed the problem. Once I got a response from the controller in the software, I re-enabled each plug-in and found that they too again worked. Still trying to figure out exactly which plug-in is responsible for my MPK not being recognized/not responding.
