Apple Mail - Gmail login

Everyday now I see the squiggly line in my Apple Mail Window next to my Gmail account. I click on it and it takes me to a window asking me to sign into my google account. It defaults to my Goggle email, I hit the next button and it asks for my password. I put in my correct password and hit the next button, it takes me to a blank grey screen that only has a cancel button in the lower left corner. It will stay on that screen indefinitely until I hit the cancel button.

If I restart, this issues goes away for a time but comes back daily.

How do I fix this?
