i have 3 identical iphones 6s on ios 12.1.2
one of them when connecting to home wifi tries opens the router login page (192.168.1.254) thinking it is a captive portal, and obviously i can't connect.
additionally, under Settings-> WIFI-> if i open the SSID details under te "Automatic Access" flag i can see "Automatic Login" that can be flagged.
This doesn't appear on all other iphones! Any suggestion?

Case solved: activated the guest wifi on the router, when iphone tried to login its MAC address appeared in the blocked list of the ISP's custom made firewall.
I won't even try to file a bug to the ISP, wasted time
Other things i tried: select "Other" in WIFI , type th esame SSID, select the correct encryption and set the password (=create a wifi profile like you do in windows 10 when you have issues with wifi)
nothing. it is like it has decided it is a public wifi that needs a captive portal login

2 other 6s and one ipad don't have the same issue
Reboot the router.
Did you re-set the network settings on the affected phone?
yes network settings reset has been done.
