How can I stop apps from showing up on all of my iOS devices?

If I download an app or delete an app on my iPad it does the exact same thing on my iPhone. I added a few apps to my iPad last night and they all downloaded onto my iPhone. The same thing happens if I delete an app on either device. I also have an old iPhone that I use just for listening to music and the same app activity occurs on it. I still want the same Apple ID on all devices for music and books so how can I fix this without having to get separate Apple ID’s? There must be a setting somewhere. Please help! Thank you!

Hi songbirdmc,

To disable automatic app downloading, follow the steps bellow on one of your devices and it should stop the automatic downloads.

From the home screen,

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Scroll down to iTunes and App Store
  3. Select iTunes and App Store
  4. Make sure Apps are disabled under automatic downloads

From this menu, you can also disable automatic downloads of Music, and other products like Books and AudioBooks.
