Logic Pro X Failed to Download - First Initial download

I decided to purchase Logic Pro X (version 10.4.4) for my iMac 27" i7 (2.93GHz) / 16gb DDR3 Ram / Plenty of Storage. But each time it get right at the end of the download, it wigz out and comes up with an Error Notification that says 'Logic Pro X Failed to Download - Use Purchase Page to Try Again'.

I've attempted to do this about 10 or more times now and still get the same Message. It looks like a few people were having similar issues with this in the last few years also. Nothing i saw, looked helpful. I arranged for Apple call me to try to fix this, but the guy that called wasn't an expert in logic - so he couldn't help. I've made another scheduled call for 2 days from now to get an 'expert' to call me. So might have to wait to see how that goes. If I get this fixed. I'll post the results.

from other peoples similar issues it always seemed that it was the Apple servers that let the team down..

Ok I solved this problem on my end.

Just by chance, I connected to my VPN, to a random server in Singapore and sure enough - logic pro x download size is correct 1.45gb! - I stopped the download, disconnected the VPN and its back to 860.7gb. I'm located in Australia - so it must have something to do with The Australian server. Not sure where you are located, but for me this is the problem. Im going to do another clean install again, with Mojave and I will report back a 100% confirmed outcome.

SO if you have a VPN or can trial a free software version this might help you for now. I have a case manager with Apple already and will pass on the feedback today.

I have this same issue I have been on the phone to support for three hours and no solution . It’s been escalated . I have done a clean install of my machine (total reinstall of macOS as well.

logic is 1.45gb according to the product page in the AppStore but for me it’s showing as 860.7mb and that’s when it fails. So... I strongly believe that the server file is corrupt as it’s not big enough insize. I purchased logic two years ago, so it’s nothing to do

with new purchases as other software downloads and install fine. I was only reinstalling it after the clean install and I get the same errors as you

It might have been a download server glitch, because of the large number of people downloading the update (as it's just been released). I'd leave it be for a few hours and try again later.

Also, because software installation is done through App Store app, this is really a question that has to be asked in Apple ID discussion, which deals with App Store stuff. Most likely, the tech support guy who called you back treated it as such, and not as issue specific to Logic.

Quiksilverboy - This absolutely worked!!

I'm now currently downloading the 65gb of additional sounds. Very grateful for the help here.

I have a theory that anyone that tries to buy LPX in the AU region will be getting the files for the update instead. I will talk to apple about it tomorrow.. But for now I'm going to go record some tracks!

Awesome ! so glad it worked for you as well I have several music projects I have to complete as well (well.. I want to complete ).

luckily I found a workaround to back up the logic additional content installers, so I don't have to re-download every time. I hope you enjoy LPX!

Team NSW for the win. Also, for anyone else reading this, when I went back to the Singapore Server for VPN it said the download was 575mb, so I had to use a US VPN server, and this worked flawlessly !
