Macbook Pro 2017 13" horizontal line on screen

I understand you may be seeing horizontal lines on your Mac. It's a little hard to tell from the photo; are you referring to lines appearing within the red background in your picture, or something else?

Do you see the same lines in all apps, or only in Safari content?

Does it help if you restart in safe mode?

If not, a reset of your NVRAM is a great start. You may need to re-configure some of your settings, like volume and resolution, after this reset: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac.

If you still see the same lines after, try booting your Mac into recovery mode to see if the lines are still present. This is a great to narrow down an issue like this. You won't need to run any tests in recovery; just start up your Mac while holding Command (⌘)-R, wait for recovery mode to load, and check for the lines. You can then click the Apple menu () > Restart to get back to normal: About macOS Recovery.

We appreciate that follow-up information. Were you able to test booting your Mac into recovery mode as well? If you see the same lines there, this is a good indication of where the issue is coming from and would help determine next best steps. To access recovery mode, try starting your Mac up while holding Command (⌘)-R. Once recovery mode loads, check for the lines to see if they persist here.
