I want to transfer my files from my old iPod to my new iPod.

I received a new refurbished iPad for xmas and previously owned and used a iPod that's about ten or twelve years old. I am not tec savy. Im a dinosaur. However I want to transfer my files from my old iPod to my new iPod. Some of this music was downloaded from cds and not bought on iTunes. How do I do this? Can I do this?
