Another thing to check is whether the Sony has an App in the App Store, which would accept Wifi transfer over the air. If it does, you'd need to be connected to Wifi as that would be a lot of content, which would not transfer via cellular.

Those are really the only options you've got. Are you using the official Apple SD Card adapter? If you are, then Wifi transfer is what you'll have to do, even if it takes a long time. You could perhaps go to your Apple Store and see if they'll download the video for you? Having a computer would make this pretty simple.
