Voice memo won’t play or sync to iTunes

I recorded a voice memo on my iPhone 8 and I cannot play it at all. The file is there, over 1.5 hours long, 20 MB and saved as an M4A file. I tried downloading it with iTunes but it downloaded all memos except that one.  I was able to send the file to my google drive and download to my computer (PC) but I still can't play it with any suggested software. All say the file may be corrupted. Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve this issue?

Thank you in advance!

Whether you can repair the file depends on what and where the issue is, if in the header you may have greater success than if the file itself is corrupted (so I’ve read).

This discussion talks through options including various audio conversion programs like Audacity (the easiest to try first I would say), but a link for instructions further down appeared to work, you may also want to give that a go.

The process involves downloading and using a Binary Editor for PC, so I’ll stop there and say “at your own risk” because being a Mac user I’ve no actual experience.

Best of luck.
