Will the sapphire screen scratch easily? Is it necessary to put a screen protector on?

Thanks for reaching out

Sapphire is very resistant! It can only be scratched by diamonds so no I don't think a screen protector is necessary. You can put one for extra security but it is definitely not required to protect your screen.
