How to export/import OMF from/to fcpx

You can't import OMF. You can export an XML from FCP and use the X2Pro utility to convert the file to AAF for ProTools. I don't think it supports OMF any longer.

FCP X doesn't support OMF or AAF.

If you are using Logic Pro, the XML out of FCP X works really well.

If you are suing Pro Tools, you have two options:

1. Buy the app X2Pro. It's $150. Make sure it works for you before paying.
2. Use the roles feature in FCP X and export it out as separate audio files, bring those into whatever you want for mixing. You click on Share:Master File click on the Roles tab, select the pop-up Roles As: and select Audio Only as Separate files or Multitrack QuickTime movie.

You will get a separate track for each role and that will allow you to mix.
