problem IMOVIE wont let me Save Video

Hi folks! big problem; I have tried to SAVE my IMOVIE video..I cannot. I have 25 photos..loaded the audio song... and selected"All..and copied..tried the magic Wand... it's all IN IMOVIE but everytime I tried emailing this hard work video; Imovie SHUTS" DOWN.. all very frustrating; I NEED to SAVE this video but theres no command for SAVE VIDEO... lots of hard work..and I don't want it all LOST... please help; thanks in advance; I also- selected all copied and pasted..but that does nothing. this video Plays FINE on my computer screen..but doesn't let me SAVE it.. or email it to anyone..thanks! Oh BTW i'm on Mac OS Sierra, 10.12.6 ..

iMovie 10 automatically saves projects as you are editing. You don't need to do anything. You can close out of the project and reopen it from the Projects browser screen and take up where you left off.


To email a project, do File/Share/Email when the project is open. A blank email will open and the project will share into it. If the movie is too large, your email provider may reject it as exceeding the size limits of the email program. In that case go to System Preferences/iCloud and sign in to iCloud and check the Email box. That will give you an iCloud mail account that will let you send emails with larger files.

Follow this file path to the iCloud preference: Apple Logo/System Preferences/iCloud. You will see this:



After signing in to iCloud, check the box for mail. Then share to the iCloud mail account.


If iMovie is shutting down when you try to share to Mail try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your project. Now see if your project shares out to Mail.
