Facetime keeps freezing

Hi,

On my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) running Mojave 10.14.2 every time I try and make or receive calls on Facetime it freezes.

The app will open and has an updated call list but can't do anything more.

Interestingly, it will make the call or answer it but then freezes immediately after.

Any help would be much appreciated.

MacBook Air (2018 or later)

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, scscole!

I understand you're unable to make or receive FaceTime calls because the app will freeze on your MacBook Pro. I'd be happy to provide information to help you out with this situation.

Try making a FaceTime call in safe mode to see if the issue continues: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

Also, test to see if the issue happens within another user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

If it doesn't happen in another user account, try reinstalling macOS: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery
