FaceTime not opening on MacOS Monterey

I tried to open FaceTime, but for some reason the app just bounced for like 10 minuets and then force-quit itself. I don't know why this is happening. iMessages works just fine.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

Hello Ottobunny,

We understand you aren't able to fully open and use the FaceTime app on your MacBook Pro. We have some steps to work through that will often resolve this specific issue. First, here's a helpful resource: If an app on your Mac stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

  1. Check for macOS updates: Update macOS on Mac
  2. Restart your Mac, then try opening FaceTime again: Shut down or restart your Mac
  3. Boot your Mac into safe mode, then try opening FaceTime: Start up your Mac in safe mode
  4. If FaceTime works in safe mode, restart your Mac as normal, then try FaceTime again
  5. Create a test user profile to log in to and test opening FaceTime: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

If FaceTime continues to not launch for you, reply back here with how it did while booted to safe mode and in a test user profile on your Mac. That will help us narrow down what might be causing the issue. We look forward to hearing back from you.

Best regards.
