Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

I have done all the steps, but am not seeing a prompt to merge, or cancel when I am seeing Contacts under iCloud.

Contacts have not synced to new iPad from iCloud. I see no prompt to “merge or cancel”

Also, I have not been able to open up iCloud Drive yet on this ipad.

It sounds like you need to sync Contacts with iCloud. I want to help.


Let's make sure you're signed into iCloud with the same account you used on your other devices:

Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support


If you're logged in to iCloud with the right Apple ID, check to see if Contacts enabled in Settings > [your_name] > iCloud > Contacts.


If Contacts is turned on for sync with iCloud, you'll want to make sure all contacts are being displayed in the Contacts app.

Open Contacts > Groups > Show All Contacts if you see that, then tap Done.


In the event you're still not seeing your contacts, you will want to check on the iCloud website to see which contacts are shown there. You can login and check the contacts on your iCloud account here:
