Got a new iPad Pro 11” and the highest resolution is 720p? Is there a fix to this problem?

Apple doesn't control the video resolution of YouTube videos you click on. Your iPad is "capable" of 1080p resolution. It can only play what it is fed by the source it is fed from. If you feel the iPad is not doing what you think it should do, feel free to let Apple know, via this link: https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

Why would apple make a device with a Retina display if you can’t see past YouTube’s crappy 720p.

On iOS, things might be different.

I have no clue about Android and Windows is not any different from macOS.

I don't use my iPad just for YouTube.

Have you tried streaming any YouTube content on your iPad that is labeled HD to see if that streams?

The HD label on a YouTube video usually is an indicator that the video is in 1080p.

Any other video content apps I have streamed, streams in 1080p.

A Web browser is a Web browser.

A simple Web/Internet browser is NOT responsible for the content being presented Inside of it!

Period!

This is NOT the responsibility of Apple to ensure the quality of content you look at on the Internet.

Take up your perceived video quality issue with Google/YouTube.

This is NOT an Apple problem/bug.
