Outlook Contacts on iPhone issue

So I enter contacts on my iPhone. Click on groups to be shown the following

ALL iCLOUD

MY EMAIL ADDRESS

MY OTHER EMAIL ADDRESS

ALL OUTLOOK

80% of my phone contacts appear from icloud

The rest are stored in Outlook

First question: When I create a new contact (so someone gives me their number) how do I make sure its stored into iCloud and not defaulting to Outlook as it appears to be doing so?

Second question: I would like to have all the contacts in Outlook transferred and have everything in iCloud to make things simple. I can see no end of tutorials online of exporting through Outlook (however I don't have MS Outlook in order to do this)

Im a little confused as to why they are being stored in Outlook in the first place as I don't recall ever choosing an option for this.

If someone could find a link to a tutorial I can follow to resolve this that would be great. I simply want all my phone contacts in one place (iCloud) and I want future contacts to be added directly there too. Then Gert rid of Outlook groups.

We can make a Smart phone, send a man to the moon, talk to people the other side of the world but moving contacts around I need several tech guys to assist. Come on apple, make this easier

In Settings, Passwords and Accounts, go thru each account and ensure only the icloud account is set on for contacts.

Then on a desktop computer, sign into your outlook account in Safari and in the contacts you can export them all to a file which can be imported into icloud account using the computer/Safari also.

Sorry no. I have 2 gmail accounts that have no contacts stored.

The only account that lets me sing into outlook via the web is my existing gmail account.

I tried my old Hotmail account but it tells me it no longer exist.

I have no no other accounts and only ever use outlook at work for my works email. Last time I ever owned an outlook account was over 20 years ago.

Ok so I figured out how to store future contacts directly to iCloud

i went to sign into outlook using my old hotmail account to be told it no longer exist.

I tried with my gmail account which lets me in but it shows I have zero contacts in there. I’m baffled therefore where my outlook contacts are??

my only current solution (and it’s a long winded route) is to go through each outlook contact one at a time and copy the number, create a new contact adding to iCloud and delete the old outlook. I’ve done around 30 in the last hour as it’s such a tedious task.

i reckon I’ll be done my the end of the week!!
