2018 Mac mini static after sleep mode

My brand new 2018 Mac mini, running on Mojave 10.14.2 has a static screen display after the computer has been on sleep mode. By static/snow, I mean the monitor display looks like the pattern an old TV using an antenna would display if it lost its signal.

It seems this issue has been occurring for at least 5 years, as I've seen reports on the same thing with 2014 Mac mini's. The issue is far more prevalent in Mac mini's based online research.

Why hasn't this issue been resolved?

I had this problem a few years ago. In my case, it turned out that the HDMI cable I was using was failing. Try swapping out the HDMI cable with a couple of others and see if that changes anything. Also see whether any of the cables are HDMI 2.0, or an older version. I bought and installed a new HDMI 2.0 cable, and that immediately solved the problem for me. Good luck!

I have same kind of problem with the Mac mini 2011 model. I have PC and Mac mini same place and connect to same monitor (AOS). Only the Mac cause problems. So it is enough, if I take sleeping mode away? But it doesn't explain everything because, if I turn on bathroom light in the same electrical conductor, my monitor start making white noise and signal is gone. I have also Mojove.

I also have this issue. I have one monitor (ASUS) and both it and the HDMI cables work fine with all my other devices/computers. There are a lot of posts around the web (including on Apple support communities) about monitor-related issues (for the Mac Mini 2018) and none of them appear to be resolved. It's been an issue for this particular model at least since November (when the computer was released?).

I called support and they told me to reset the SMC and then to reset the NVRAM/PRAM. I thought that was supposed to fix it, but it continues to happen. I have used that method several times since contacting support, but I just can't do this every time this happens i.e. every time my computer goes into sleep mode. Already I have to do it several times a week - and it usually takes numerous tries - sometimes as many as 50 or more. I can't believe Apple would expect me to set aside several hours a week to starting and restarting the computer. Clearly that's not normal. I'm about the call support here in a little while because this time I can't get it to come back on and I've been trying for a long time.
