"IPhone is disabled" I've tried following steps above but the Iphone 5s will not connect to Itunes
I forgot my passcode so have tried following the steps to restore it via ITunes but I cannot get my phone to connect to ITunes.

Are your saying that you can't put it in "recovery mode"?
Have you tried these steps?
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Are you gettng an error message?
