Ipad Overheating only while playing games

So ive had an Ipad Mini (4th Gen) for the last 6 months, i bought it second hand, there is nothing obviously wrong with it, no damages, no cracks or anything. It doesnt drain battery super fast, it doesnt have problem with loading any apps, its updated to latest version of software, no other issues or anything however...

Admittedly i play alot of games, and ive noticed that after 30 mins of game play (no matter what game) it will usually start heating up quite a bit. The entire things gets hot not just one section of the tablet.

Ive talked to an Apple service membber through the website and have followed thier instructions (factory resetting, updating to latest versions etc) to no avail. It lost its warranty as of August last year and i didnt notice the problem until one month after that (classic) . Ive asked to have it looked at by an authorized apple dealership here in NZ but they want to charge an arm and a leg just to LOOK at it.

Any ideas people? Is it worth the 100 or so dollars for them to look at it? is it dangerous? will it get worse, will the heat damage other components inside?

Thanks in advance

If it is getting that hot, you need to have that iPad looked at.

Could be serious battery issue/fault or some other issue.

Do you play games on this iPad while it is connected to power and trying to charge?

Do you use the genuine Apple power block and cables with that iPad or, at least, Apple MFi approved third party power blocks and cables with that iPad?

I never play anything while its charging, in fact i dont use it while its charging ever. And yes i use the original charging cord and power block it came with (atleast what i got with it second hand so i assume theyre the original) . Also it is in a case yes, and i guess it doesnt quite let the heat dissipate upon inspection so i will use it less in the case for now
