two a5s on a4

I have a Pages document in A4 size portrait and want to print 2 identical versions of it in A5 size alongside one another on an A4 sheet. This used to be easy on Microsoft Word but I can't figure out how to do it on Mac. (I'm using a MacBook Pro with OS Mojave 10.14.2). I've seen one or two suggestions on the forum but they don't work for me.

Microsoft Word (on Windows) allows one to impose a single A4 as two A5 on a landscape A4 in that specific print panel. On macOS, and in Pages v7.3, it is an entirely different print panel implementation that does not allow one to do the Windows Word imposition. Acrobat Reader DC v2019+ and Apple's Preview do not allow it either.
