scam call?

Just received a call asking me to call apple support @ 1-866-617-**** for suspicious activity on my account. I'm thinking it was a scam call. Can you confirm?

Suspicious Call Hello, I received a call from the following # ‭+1 (844) 779-7426‬ claiming to be Apple Support and advising that I had suspicious activity in my Apple Cloud account. Can someone confirm if this is real or malicious? And if real, is there a number I can call to connect directly with someone to confirm my account was no compromised? It was an automated message and it mentioned to be careful when connecting to Banking and Financial apps, and press 1 to speak with someone directly. Thank you for your help! Mike

scam calls I've received several calls from Apple Inc. saying that my account has had suspicious activity. I've ignored these but needed to be sure it was a scam call. Can you help me understand Apples policy?

Any such call is a scam. Apple does not contact users from out of the blue. Hang up on crooks.
