I have the newest Imovie and every time I go try to crop a video (zoom in) it doesnt work.
The white arrows on the side dont move and it just shows two yellow lines. One going down and one going across but they dont do anything.
When I click ken burns and it shows me where it starts and ends, I cant move it around the frame.
Please help!
What version of iMovie are you using with High Sierra?

Thanks Rich! Yeah ive been using Imovie for many moons, but once i installed high sierra, the crop isnt working. I wanted to upgrade to Mojave but the computer says it cant? Ill try like you said with the duplicating it in thw library. Hope it works

I am not able to duplicate your observations. I am running iMovie 10.1.10 on Mojave and the crop tool works as designed. The function of the two intersecting yellow lines is to show the vertical and horizontal midpoints. You move the white corner markers by placing your cursor on the marker and dragging while pressing down. You reposition the adjustment rectangles by clicking in the body of the rectangle and then putting your cursor on the edge of the rectangle and dragging while pressing down.
It might help if you would post a step-by-step of what you are doing to utilize the crop tool.

If still not working, try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects.

Wowwww i feel like a moron! Turns out it was my mouse of all things! The roller in between the right and left clicker was jammed and it wouldnt let me move anything inside the creator screen. But everything else was working. Sorry to waste your time and thanks again!
