Green Lines On iPhone X Display

So I recently encountered a hardware defect on my iPhone X. That defect has cause my phone two have green lines, in vertical direction displayed on the screen of the phone. The phone was taken to an apple genius bar to discuss the issue with a certified apple tech. Upon discussion it was bought to my attention that I was out of warranty, which left me with three options. Those options were.......

1. Pay $279.00 For a screen replacement
2. Go through my carrier insurance, which is $200
3. Trade phone for new at a discounted price. $450

Now those were my options for a defective phone I payed a little more than $1000.00 for just a year ago. I, in no way caused this problem, nor is this an isolated incident. It's very unfortunate that apple can not accommodate customers better for defective devices, given the fact the defect was caused by the company not the customer. If anyone else knows of a better solution please advise. Thanks
