Can't find a mailbox in Mac Mail

I cannot find a mailbox in Mac Mail in the folders on the left. It is still in my Mail as I can search for it and find it, but I can't find the path to it. I must've dragged it somewhere, but I've opened every mailbox and cannot find it. I'm using OS 10.11.6. I'd like to move it back to 'where it belongs' and be able to file new messages into it. How can I determine its location? Thanks.

Google searches aren't satisfying. missing mailbox I have created several mailboxes in Apple Mail on my iMac to organize email messages. One of those mailboxes no longer shows up in the sidebar. I can search for emails from the person whose messages I have stored in that local mailbox and I get a list of the messages, all of which show that they are in that mailbox, but I no longer see the mailbox. I tried restarting the computer, but the issue persists. Any ideas on how to restore the mailbox? Mail Version 11.5 (3445.9.1) iMac 27 late 2015 OSX 10.13.6

Special mailboxes are not shown in Mail list but are shown in On my Mac, but only if I click an email and "move to" which is not what I want to do. I just want to return the mailboxes to where the other folders are. Personal mailboxes are not shown in Mail list but are shown in On my Mac, and that's only if I click an email and then "move to" which is not what I want to do. Try rebuilding the mailboxes by selecting it and then going to Mail/Mailbox/Rebuild.

If that doesn't work, try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

Reindex messages For El Capitan, try looking in V3. Sierra use V4. High Sierra use V5.
