M-Audio Keystation 88 volume slider and patch volumes

I'm finding that, when I load up a patch and start playing, the volume is louder than I'd like it to be. Weird thing is that nudging my keyboard's volume slider a bit, and then back to where it started, causes my patch volume to drop — even though there's no net change in the keyboard's volume slider. If I flip from this patch to another, then back to the first patch, the patch volume is back up high again.

Other patches, once lowered by nudging, then un-nudging, the volume slider, remain at the lower volume when I come back to them.

Any ideas why this is happening?

There are a couple of possibilities to consider. First, in edit mode, try selecting the concert folder in the patch list. Select the assignments and mappings tab. Below, in the concert settings, uncheck the box titled "send unassigned MIDI to all channel strips". Now for each patch, adjust the volume of the channel strips and save. The setting will be remembered for that patch.
