can't hear audio before recording

In Logic Pro X / Mojave, I get a signal level, but can't hear it. If I record, I can hear the playback.

The Input Monitoring button, the Record button, and Auto Input Monitoring have no effect.

I've checked Security in System Preferences, and Logic Pro X is allowed to access microphone.

My interface is Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6.

Logix Pro X not able to record audio Specs: Logic Pro X 10.4.1, Mojave 10.14.5, audio device is a Presonus AudioBox 44VSL When I arm an audio track in Logic, with input monitoring active, and the correct input selected on the track, Logic is somehow not receiving audio (with no meter movement). This occurs even though the audio device (The Presonus) is recognized by the System, and the same audio device (and microphone) can record just fine in other audio applications (such as Twisted Wave), running on the same system. I have verified in 'System Preferences' > 'Sound' that the correct device appears and is selected, and see meter movement on the "input level" meter when I tap the microphone. So it would seem the problem is definitely isolated to Logic. Any help would be much appreciated.

Logic not picking up audio I simply can't record/get playback on Logic. It's not a hardware problem since I can do it on other apps. If I set the input to Internal Microphone for example, no audio gets received. It's only been a problem since I updated to Mojave but I don't think that's the reason for it. I'm sure I accidentally clicked on the wrong thing at some point, what could be the issue here? It's also up to date.

Logic pro x audio drops out when punching record in/out, Macbook M1 Hi, Can anyone help me solving an annoying issue with logic on my new Macbook pro M1, Big Sur? In logic (and garageband) when activating (toggling) record on an audio track all audio from other tracks drops out for 1-2 seconds. I have been going through all audio settings and have been testing with both built-in and an external soundcard (RME). I also have Cubase (10.0) running on the same machine, and it works fine. Actually I bought Logic along with the M1 macbook pro expecting that it would run far smoother than Cubase...

Eureka! ’twas merely a button on the box: “In the Monitor section of the KOMPLETE AUDIO 6 audio interface, you can set the device to bypass any signal processing and send the audio signal from the input directly to the output of the device at zero latency. This function is known as Direct Monitoring.”
