Rode NTG-2 audio recording not picked up on mobile devices

So I just finished editing a video which includes some voice over. I recorded the voice over using a Rode NYG-2 shotgun mic, which is a great mic. Once I uploaded my video to facebook via my laptop the video played perfectly, but when I watched it on my mobile device, any audio recorded by the Rode was not properly picked up - the same happened when uploaded to YouTube.

Somebody please help!

Sounds like the microphone was recorded out of phase. This is always more apparent when played on smartphones that have speakers very close together or mono devices.
