Ah, now you clarified the question, that’s the air pressure vent to equalize pressure within the watch case.

Hi! I see you have a question about your Apple Watch. The hole is not new, it's been on every model of Apple Watch and it’s purpose is somewhat unknown. It’s nothing you need to worry about though! Your Watch is not defective or anything. Hope this was somewhat helpful.
If you watch the hole while pressing on the band release button I think it’s purpose will become obvious!
No you don’t know the hole I’m referring to. It’s clear what the other one does. I’m referring
to the one on far right in red circle.
