Preview 10.1 How to correct a rotated text box?

Using Markup tool(s) I often create text boxes on PDF documents. I've now hit a serious problem: After saving my latest PDF document with four new text boxes, when I next opened the file, one of the text boxes was rotated 90º and totally black, like a complete black fill. The three other text boxes were OK. After clicking and trying Command-Z several times, the black fill disappeared (don't know why) and the text appeared fine ...except that the whole box, and text, was still rotated 90º. I can't get it to rotate to its correct position. If I select the rotate tool, the entire page rotates.

How can I rotate a selected text box, which I've created, on a PDF document, using Preview 10.1

iMac 21.5" 4K, 10.14

If you have Adobe Acrobat DC, you can follow the instructions here on how to rotate a text box annotation in a PDF.

If you do not have Adobe Acrobat DC, or another PDF Editor that provides for rotation of text box annotations, then

create a new text box annotation, and copy/paste the content of the incorrectly oriented text box to the new text box. Then remove the text box annotation with the wrong orientation.

Neither Preview, or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC are PDF Editors and do not provide user controls to change the orientation a text box annotation.

Thanks! That worked.... copy/pasting the CONTENT of the text box rather than the entire box itself.

Know why the entire box sometimes turns black?

Setting the wrong fill color from the Markup toolbar can cause a change in the text box background. The fill controls are between the border color, and text style items.
