Using a 27 inch iMac with 32 GB Ram and High Sierra 10.13.6.
Just finished editing a 4K video and I cannot export it in that format. It only offers 1080P as the best resolution. Please help.

Those are the destination options. Most of the them have multiple settings that you can choose from in their settings. Use the share button in the upper right, select master file and go to settings. Or select Apple Devices and go to settings.
Make sure your project properties are 4K. Please show your project properties.

You’re showing the Info panel. Click on Settings. They will show the resolution of your project.
Please post screenshots that show the project properties. How are you exporting? What do you see in master export settings?
Thank you for getting back. I have included a screen grab of the master file setting! It does not give me the option of exporting in 4k either. I know I am probably missing something real simple here.
Thank you for your time! i can see options export in 4k to Vimeo and Youtube but not as a Master file or an Apple 4K option just like the 1080p and 720p
Its the same in settings and the when I try to export to YT the 4K option is greyed out!
I am exporting with Optimized media and can't figure out what the deal is with the missing 4K option
Thanks again. I am not trying to Upres the file. Footage from 2 cameras are 4K. I am guessing I have to check on project settings before the IMPORT sequence? I'll try and take a look at that.
In which case you’re either not using 4K media or not editing in a 4K project. You need to show what the project properties are. The master file setting uses the resolution of the project. Are you trying to uprez from HD to UHD on export? You can’t do that from inside FCP. You have to do it either using and creating a 4K project or using Compressor.
