Phone won’t turn on

So i had an iPhone 6 s and I haven’t charged it up in a while. I go to plug it in and the charging battery symbol shows but it won’t turn on. I’ve had it plugged in for a good 2 hours. Any ideas how to get it back on? My cousin needs a phone just for right now until hers is fixed.
