I have just purchased a new Mac and the one before would let me edit album artwork for songs in iTunes.
since this new computer, that is no longer an option. I have no clue why.
I find the song that I want to change the album artwork of and click "add artwork" or even drag and drop but to no avail.
please help.

apparently I just needed to restart the program. twice. once was not enough.
As a matter of interest did you have AirPlay active when you were trying to add artwork? There is a hint from another thread that this might cause problems.

If syncing the device again doesn't fix the missing art on the device then try removing the affected content from the device, then add it back again.

I not being able to use the iTunes from any of my device, neither from my iPhone nor from my Mac book. Is it due to the iTunes Error 590624 that might have occurred or is it a problem in my account?
No. now however, music.app on ios12 is not showing the correct artwork.
iTunes 12.9.2.5 cannot delete or add artwork--why not??
