Apple scam

Very misleading email which cost me money. I thought they were offering me 3 months of Apple Music for a free trial. I would think apple already knows I’ve had it in the past. Then I was charged because I didn’t read the fine print. Very misleading.

Email that seems to be from Apple saying my subscription to Apple Music. It came after I bought a new ipad. I never ordered this and the instructions for how to cancel don't seem to work. Is this something Apple does? Give you a free subscription then charge you if you don't cancel? It may have been spam or worse. I won't click on anything in the email for that reason. Regardless I do not want an Apple Music or any paid subscriptions from Apple. Please advise.

email from smule magic piano i got an email from smule magic piano (an app that i do have but haven't used in months) that i had been subscribed to full access of the app. i do not recall ever purchasing that free trial then having to pay for it. apparently, i had been paying for it from april 2019 to july 2019. to see if it was a legit email, i checked my subscriptions and it was legit, and i was paying for it. is there a way i can get my money back? i haven't even used the app in months and was paying for something i didn't know about. apparently others have had this problem too as i have heard.

This is pretty standard marketing messaging. Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, etc...they all do it. It's not an Apple scam, however hopefully a lesson learned that you should read fine print, especially when Apple puts an asterisk there to alert you that there are terms and conditions that apply.

Your right Tim. I will be more careful. The real problem I have is I followed the link provided on email and it asked me to subscribe only not that I would be charged. I think that was the misleading part. I would think I would get a message saying you’re not eligible for 3 months free or you will be charged $9.99 and I didn’t receive that message. It is a lesson learned. It’s just a business practice that really turns me off towards Apple. I feel they’ve gone down hill in customer service. And misleading practices
