My iPad Pro 3rd Gen was wiped at airport security
At Philly airport and contents gone and full reset. Is this a common experience?

Thanks everyone for sharing your personal experiences and mostly nonevents. I think that it is safe to say that it has nothing to do with
I’ve got it, thanks.
That said, I am still looking for insights as to what would wipe a device?
I will be trying to get to an apple store, there are just none near me
Thanks again.
What was done to it that caused the erasure? An airport x-ray has never hurt my iPads in the past.
Exactly. Something else had to happen with the OPs situation. What happened may remain a mystery.
I still don't understand how or why this happened. We just traveled a week ago and went through airport security going up and coming back, with two iPad Pro 11 and nothing was wiped off our devices.
You sure no one else (but you) have physical access to the device? No one but you touch it? That is a bizarre problem.
I too have flown in the past month with 2 ipads and an ipod touch and none of them suffered any ill effects (neither did my android smart phone. All devices were on when they were scanned.
Actually, my iPad Pro 11 was scanned twice at one security checkpoint. No loss of data or device wipe at all.
