How to Create an Alias to a Note on the Notes application on MacOS (Sierra)

I wanted to answer this question but apparently that question was locked and it said to create a new question. So I have and now I will answer it…

  1. Double Click on the Note you want to create an alias to. (Double click in the left column, not within the Note itself). This will open up a window with just the double clicked Note in it.
  2. In the top Grey Bar of that Note, Click on the icon of a Person in a Circle.
  3. That open a dropdown and at the bottom of the dropdown there is a Copy Link button, Click It.
  4. The link to that note is now in the Clipboard.
  5. Open TextEdit and create a new document.
  6. Paste the Clipboard (Cmd-V) into the new document.
  7. Do a Cmd-A to highlight all the pasted text (which is a url).
  8. Put you cursor over the highlighted text and click and drag to the desktop. (This will create a .webloc)
  9. voila‘ Double clicking the created Webloc will open Notes (if closed) and open the desired Note.
