Connecting a Dell U2417H external monitor to my MacBook Pro

Hi,

how do I connect a Dell U2417H external monitor to my MacBook Pro 2017?

I have connected the HDMI - USB C cable and updated my software (OS High Sierra 10.13.6) but the monitor does not detect any signal.

Connecting Dell U3415W to 2017 13" MacBook Pro Have tried using HDMI to USB-C cable and no luck. Anyone have a solution for using this monitor with a 2017 MacBook Pro? Thanks
