Connect my MacBook Pro to Dell monitor, P2719H

I have problem to connect my Macbook pro 13 inch to my new Dell display with HDMI-cable. Does any one had some problem and fixed it and can help me? :)

I am trying to connect my Mac Mini to my Dell monitor. I am trying to connect my Mac Mini 2020 to my Dell AS501 monitor. I bought a VGA to HDMI adapter and am still not getting display. Is the Mac Mini 2020 just not compatible with the Dell monitor AS501, or am I missing something? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

How do I connect a laptop to my newer Mac monitor? How do I connect a regular laptop that has an hdmi output to a newer Mac monitor? All the adapters I see and cords go the opposite way Mac to another device
