Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

my safari won't update because it gives me an error message saying Safari.app” cannot be updated because its extensions are in use by “Spotlight.app”. Click OK and quit the application." well how do i do this?

can someone please tell me how to turn off the extensions of spotlight so my safari can update?

  1. Click  the Spotlight (1) the magnifying glass icon in the menubar.


2. Enter Activity monitor. 


3. Double click Activity monitor.


4. When Activity monitor opens, click CPU tab to select, if not already. 


5. Enter Spotlight in the search box at the top right corner.


6. Select Spotlight  under process name.


7 Click X button at the top left corner.


8. Quit Activity monitor.
