iPod Touch 6th Gen drops Bluetooth connection

I purchased an iPod Touch 6th Gen in Jan 2019 (purchased directly from Apple.) I've paired it with several BT speakers and headphones (all Bose) and it frequently drops the bluetooth connection. I've paired other devices (iPhone XS Max, Apple Watch) with these same speakers/headphones and do not have the problem with dropped bluetooth. I've asked Bose and Apple if others have had this complaint. The reps had not heard others complaining. Am considering asking Apple to replace the iPod Touch as defective, but wanted to hear whether others have had this problem.

One slight limitation of Bluetooth is that devices can grab the connection from one another. It's possible therefore, that other devices that you have paired with the same speaker might be taking control of the Bluetooth link.

Make sure that the other devices have their Bluetooth turned off. Don't forget the ones in other rooms in your house: if any of those have a strong Bluetooth signal, that might be why the iPod loses the signal after a while.

One other thing you could do is tell the iPod to forget that speaker, and then look for it again and re-pair it.
