Epson: Double-Sided Printing (in Mojave)
I have an Epson XP-760 printer, and have updated the driver to the latest version in my Mac's System Preferences/Printers & Scanners. When printing from a text document (e.g. a Word document), I can select 'Double-Sided' in the ordinary way from the print dialog. But when printing a web page in portrait format from Safari, or printing a portrait format pdf document in Preview, I have to go to 'Printer Features', where, after scrolling a long way down through comprehensive colour-editing and similar features, I see two options for double-sided printing (why two?), which appear to have identical functions. Then I have to go to to 'Duplex Tumble' (the detachable unit on the printer is called a duplex unit) and select 'DuplexNoTumble'.
What a performance! And it seems that I cannot save my choices for the next similar printing task. I have emailed Epson about all this and they say that it is an Apple matter. That is why I am asking about it here.
It is true that by installing and using the Bonjour printer driver in Syst. Prefs. instead of the Epson one, I can even see the double-sided option directly in the main print dialog. But surely Apple and Epson could have got their heads together in order to make the 'official' Epson driver do double-sided straightforwardly, even from the Net or from a pdf?
I attach a screen shot of the relevant part of that long 'Printer Features' drop-down..
