com.apple.iLifeMediaBrowser.ILPhotosTranscodeCache is taking all space

Dear Community

I recently got the message from system, that my hard disk ist getting full. After a little research, I detected that the folder com.apple.iLifeMediaBrowser.ILPhotosTranscodeCache is taking all the spaces on my Mac mini (2018 model). I have tried to delete all files within, but after this the Mac is running hot und the space is taken again after some time again (over 70GB).

I don't want this, how can I solve this and stop this?

Regards

Exactly the same problem here.

Running Mojave on a 2018 MacBook Pro 13. Went through a lot of articles from other macOS and it seems like this is not new and has been running around for a while. Please advise on how to proceed - I have already deleted the files/emptied trash, but had the same behavior from my Mac (running hot and the space was taken again).

I have plenty of videos and pictures in my Photo Library. All of those are backed up on iCloud. I have no need for cashed files copied into another folder simply duplicating all of my videos and pictures (and honestly I don't even know how those files will be used by MacOS).

I had the same problem. My full path is "/Library/Containers/com.apple.ScreenSaver.iLife-Slideshow-Extension/Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iLifeMediaBrowser.ILPhotosTranscodeCache". I think it's what the system uses as a cache for displaying your photos in a screensaver instead of diving into the actual photos library to get them. I had a photos screensaver turned on. I switched to a non-photo screensaver, deleted the last directory in that tree, and I think it shouldn't come back.
