Hi, Usually when you are speaking on Primary Line and after the call is completed you want to dial using Secondary Line ( Esim) it shows call failed.
THis is issue which i am being facing since the time i have bought the phone.
This is bug of IPHONE XS.
What is the resolution?
Did you contact your eSIM carrier? What did they say? Are they among this list?

If everything is ok with them, then it could be a hardware problem. Make an appointment at an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider and have your device inspected. See this: https://locate.apple.com/findlocations
