when i connect my iphone 7 plus to my pc the DCIM folder doesnt show all the photos on my iphone

when I connect my iphone 7 plus to my pc via the cable, the DCIM folder doesn't show all the photos on my i phone, a few of them only!! any clue?

Hello.

Can you please head to Settings > Photos and check if it's set to 'Optimise iPhone Storage'?

If so, then some of your photos are stored in iCloud, that is why you can access them. You have to download them back to your device.
