Converting AAC files to MP3

When I set up my iTunes library, I converted lots of songs from MP3 to AAC -- and then deleted the MP3's for space reasons. I just got an MP3 player that I want to use sometimes, and want to convert/copy some of those songs baack to MP3 to put on the player. Can I do that?

Yes, but each time you change from one lossy format to another you'll lose a bit of quality. Ideally you would have kept backups of the originals on a separate drive for just this sort of situation. Use Edit > Preferences > General > Import Settings to select the output format and quality you want. Select the files you want to convert and use File > Convert > Create MP3 Version. I suggest you drag the newly created files to your MP3 device, then delete them from the library leaving your older versions in place.
